If you are a fan of the Edgar Rice Burroughs stories of Tarzan, John Carter and the underground world of Pellucidar I can heartily recommend this book.In it the title jungle lord Tam, raised by the sacred white tigress Leang and trained in the ways of blade and bow by the red-robed warrior monk Lozong, follows the beautiful, golden-armored Princess Nina of Arya beneath the mountains of Burma to her misty and mystic land of Irimatri where prehistoric beasts still roam and where monstrous multi-armed giants descended from the ancient gods of India prepare to invade the surface world.
Otis Adelbert Kline was considered THE great contemporary competitor of Edgar Rice Burroughs in the field of what was then known as "scientific romance", and in this book he pulls out all the stops.
Very much a novel of the nineteen thirties (reprinted from the classic "Weird Tales" pulp magazine complete with the original illustrations), it is still a great deal of fun, full of exotic locations, thrilling battles, daring escapes and wonderfully bizarre creatures (how can you not love a book where the most mundane of its many monsters is a rock-throwing race of hairy troglodyte slaves called "Zargs"?).
If you truly enjoy old-fashioned science fantasy I definitely say give this book a try.

great author
Maybe for the first couple of chapters. Using the mythology of pagan India, set in Thailand, Kline's hero is trained first by the white tiger, then by a warrior priest, to kill one god and marry another.
