Miracles and Mischief by Vernon Crurine . I loved listening to the audio version of this poetry. The voice over with the New Orleans accent gave it an expanded dimension, a relatable human quality. Vividly visual, deeply questioning, emotionally accessible. This book takes you into the heart of the seeker to share experiences that move and sometimes disturb, in a good way. It was too short for my taste, I wanted more, and that's a compliment. It stimulated my poetic muse and awakened a nervous feeling that unexplored depths are buried in me as they were in Vernon. If only I could say them as well. I'm still pondering the title and thinking, thinking. Read it and see.
Excellent short book. Lots of little things that make you think, and some writings echo your own thoughts.
I like to read the poems that Vernon writes on Facebook, so it was a real treat to have a whole book devoted to them He makes me think, remember, smile and cry...and that's the highest compliment I can give him.
I am not good at writing reviews, but I am proud to say that you really ought to try his books. He is a true delight. I am a big reader and for me to recommend a writer - well, they have to be really good. Take my word for it. No, don't. Buy the book and see for yourself!!
This book is poetry that makes you think about things that may not have occurred to you. I've enjoyed reading it more than once and it's a book that I can go back to many times.
